At first I thought Lone Star would be a standalone story, but discovered that I loved the characters and there was so much I could do with it. My friend, Olivia actually talk me into writing this Southern Love story that was about second chances. Usually, my genre was fantasy fiction. So just doing fiction with no werewolves, vampires or dragons was a bit hard, but I eventually got the hang of it. Sometimes it's just better to try new things and see where it takes you. This turned out great because it's popular in Pennsylvania and plus I made my friend cry like three times from reading this story ;)

I really thought I would only write about werewolves, vampires and other fantasy fiction characters, but soon found out that I wanted to write about dragons as well. They were my favorite animals and reading Shana Abe dragon stories, I feel in love that we could write such stories without them just staying as dragons. So if you enjoy dragon shifters, then The Dragon Chronicles is right up your alley.
Being published is an incredible feeling and can be nerve wrecking as well. Now, that your book is out there, you start to wonder how great of story it is and what people will think of it. Getting it published wasn't an easy task as well. You have to go through the process of being rejected by publishing house after another. Then once a publishing house wants to publish your story, you have to go through contracts and all the other paperwork. Once that's done, you start working on your cover with an artist. Once, everyone is agreed on the cover, you move on to the editing process. Don't be alarm of seeing a lot of red marks on your product. I know a few times I had thoughts I was a bad writer, but in reality it was just a chance to learn the skill. I was used to writing stories for creative writing classes and for myself. After many turns in the editing process, your book gets passed on to the copyediting step to get the final polish. After that, you book is published. It took almost two years to get my first book published, but after seeing it available for everyone to purchase and read. The final nerve wrecking thing is the reviews. You pray you get a lot of good reviews to help pet your ego, but it's not a bad thing to get a bad review. It's called a learning curve. You just learn and keep going or keep following your dream.
So, yesterday was the official day when my first book was released and published. I saw on January 1, 2015 that it was on Barnes and Nobles and Amazon. It was both exciting and nerve wrecking to see it for sale. I pretty much screamed it from the mountain tops as all my friends and family were the first to know of it being on such sites. Now, that it's available anywhere, especially the publishing house website, for download. The next step is the nerve-wrecking reviews. You hope that everyone loves it and no one gives you a bad review. Will check in a few weeks to see how thing go.
Red Sage Publishing presents:
Harvest Moon: My Guardian By Dawn Lubertowicz Coming out in January 2, 2015 Blurb: Abby is an average girl that doesn’t seem anything special. She doesn’t recall much about her past, but believes the only family she has is a man she calls Uncle Ben. She does have the ability to read people’s futures. One night, Abby’s average life changes when she decides to take the train instead of a cab. A mysterious man named Zero, who she feels safe with, saves her from a strange man. After that night, Zero keeps showing up and saving her. She soon discovers that she and Zero shared a past. She finds out Zero is a wolf demon, the ability to change from human to wolf and she is a Lyking, who has mental powers. She realizes she’s not afraid of him as she becomes aware their lives won’t be the same. As Zero continues to protect Abby from strange beings, they become closer as dreams help them understand their past. He has always felt cold and distant with no concern for himself. When he’s with Abby, he feels his heart beating as he feels warmth. He also started having urges where his body wants Abby and the wolf demon inside of him wants her blood. He can’t think of not having her in his life as he tries to stay with her longer. He soon has to decide to continue the job he was hired for or protect the one he loves from the ones who hired him. Excerpt: Zero crashes through the door of Abby’s apartment, carrying her limp body in his arms. He pushes everything off her small dinner table, then places her gently on it. He puts his ear to her chest and doesn’t hear her heartbeat. He knows she’s fading fast and he needs to do something now. He gets a chance to remove the darts from her neck with one tug. They pull on her skin a little, but it slowly goes back down without any problems. Blood slowly drips out of the wounds. He knows that their poison is already streaming through her system. He has to move fast, so he can save her. He tilts her head to the left, so the right side of her neck is more exposed. He leans forward, his lips hovering above the puncture wounds. He hesitates for a second, then shakes his head, planting his lips around the puncture wounds. He sucks, trying to get as much of the poison out of her. He appears to be in nirvana as it all appears familiar and comfortable to him. He just wants to keep sucking and nuzzle against her. He snaps out of it, realizing that he needs to stop, so he won’t kill her. He leans back and wipes her blood from his lips with the back of his hand. Zero looks down at her. She seems to be resting peacefully. He closes his eyes, calming his breathing from the excitement of being near her. His canine fangs extend and he bites the inside of his lower lip. As Zero’s mouth fills up with blood, he opens his eyes and leans forward until he’s lingers over her partly open lips. He takes her head in his hand and steers her lips closer to his. He leans down, sealing her mouth with his, so that his blood filled her. He stills, waiting for her to respond. All of a sudden, Abby starts to swallow, his blood continuing to flow into her mouth. His body relaxes in relief that she’s still alive. Her eyes are still shut as her left hand lifts to meet his face. He startles at first, but leans his face into her hand, welcoming its touch. They both seem to slip into a nirvana and everything around them disappears. Abby blushes. She doesn’t know why, but his soft look gives her butterflies. His face seems to perk up when he sees her embarrassed. He puts his hand down, wraps his arm around her then he pulls her into him. She freezes, not sure what to do. She feels him inhaling her scent from the top of her head. She moves her face into his chest and inhales too. He smells really good. “Let’s do whatever you want to do,” he finally says. She looks up at him. “Do you want to watch some television?” “If that’s what you wish.” If that’s what you wish? She would rather stay like this, even though it’s odd that he enjoys sniffing her. But she doesn’t mind it. Her heart flutters each time he inhales. She smiles. *** He doesn’t even know why he pulled her into him and why he’s inhaling her scent. His body so wanted to do this while she was working on loading the dishwasher. He could stand here all day just inhaling that sweet scent of cherry blossom. Then he starts to feel that urge again. He wants her and so does his body. He wants to feel her. He wants to smell her. He wants to taste her…again. He pauses as he opens his eyes. He feels his breathing has become erratic. He needs to stop this. He pushes Abby at arm’s length and looks down at her. He sees she’s concern and confused of what just happened. He knows if he continues like this, then he might do something they will both regret later. Plus, he needs to focus on the job at hand. He can’t lose focus of that as he feels a slight burning on his chest. The first book, Harvest Moon: My Guardian is in the final stages of being published and released in January 2015. It was a long road, but finally made it to the end. Very excited that in about three months, this book will be published. Right now, working with marketing to get the advertisement done for it. Hoping to start some book signings soon after its released. Then we can worry about the next book, Blood Moon: My Dark Angel.
